So much music leaves me feeling like my time has been wasted.
I know people appreciate and love all sorts of music, but I will throw a humungous tantrum
if I have to listen to a big 7 minute build up to nothing. This album however, is the big tums that cures my heart burn.
Almost every track on this album is a journey that drags you through the gunk, but instead of leaving you there,
Archangel Keith grabs you by the arm and lobs you right into God's gaping maw.
Once you're there, God's big fluffy tongue warms and comforts you as you take a big deep breath, right before he spits your nasty ass out and you start again.
It's a 6 season tv show with perfect writing, camerawork, and acting, with a big juicy climax at the end of each season.
The first track "Earther" is the opening credits, or the big establishing shot. Its good and gets you primed to continue and let yourself get comfortable, but its not big enough to overshadow the scenes that come later. Earther establishes the plucky strings and fluffy fuzzy synths used frequently through the album, and uses them to create the first of many melodies that get stuck in my head all the goddamn time. Track 2, "Mir-Cam Startup" is the first in a set of 2 songs. I love at the beginning, the sigh that transistions into the brass/wind instruments because for one, it creates a very relaxing and satisfying noise, but also hints (intentionally or not) at the origin of the brass/winds. These instruments were originally sung vocals, but then ran through Google's Tone Transfer AI website to be altered into instrument sounds. The trumpet melody towards the end is eventually used at the end of track 3 "Mir-Cam Online" which makes me go, "Oh hey thats the trumpet melody from Mir-Cam Startup". Also at 1:20 there is a sound that sounds like the discord notification and that makes me go bonkers bananas. The third track is the follow up "Mir-Cam Online" and it is like blum blum blum blum blum blum etc. There's a lot of gasping and sweeping noises that sound like throat valves opening and closing on a clarinet throat man whose performing the song. After some cute little pluckies and one big zappy scary sound, the song starts crashing to a halt as it starts to scream and writhe about. Like someone trying to wrangle an escaped monster. The trumpet from the previous song comes in, The escaped monster idea makes me think of the trumpet being the zookeeper trying to distract the crowd. Trying to drown out the monster noises and get everyone to look away as they pummel the poor cutie into submission.
